How important is vertical pixel count (VPC)? Manufacturers of liquid crystal graphs list the VPC for each model. This number represents the number of pixels or "dots" from the top to the bottom of the screen. This is also referred to as screen resolution. Typically, the higher the VPC, the more the unit will cost. The higher the VPC, the more slices the unit can make in the water column and the more detail can be shown on the screen. Buy as high a VPC as you can afford.
