Bike race brings detours to downtown St. Paul Wednesday

The first stage of the Nature Valley Grand Prix bicycle race takes place in downtown St. Paul. Road closings will come with it.

The first leg of the Nature Valley Grand Prix bicycle race takes place tonight in St. Paul. As a resutl, some roads will be closed and Metro Transit and MVTA bus routes on detour.

This is the news from Metro Transit:

For routes 21, 61, 63, 64 265, 285, 294, 350, 351, 361, 364, 417, 480, 484, 489 and 860:

Downtown St. Paul buses will be rerouted between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Wednesday

Eastbound buses will travel on 5th St., right on 7th St., left on Kellogg, left on Wabasha, right on 5th St., then regular route. Customers are directed to the bus stop on Smith just before 5th St. or on 5th St. just past Wabasha.

Westbound buses will travel on 6th St., right on Wabasha, left on 7th St, to 6th St. then regular route. Customers are directed to the bus stop on Wabasha in front of Macy's or on 7th St. at old 6th St.

MVTA Buses:

Routes 480,484,489

Eastbound regular on 5th St, right on 7th St, left on Kellogg, left on Wabasha, right on 5th Street and back to regular.

Eastbound passengers directed to Smith Ave & 5th St or 5th St at Wabasha.

480,484,489 Westbound regular on 6th St, right on Wabasha, left on 7th St to 6th St and back to regular.

Westbound passengers directed to Wabasha in front of the former Macy's or on Old 6th St.
