As the Gap continues to struggle, storewide sales help get back to school shoppers in the door.

If your kid likes clothes from the Gap, tomorrow (Friday, July 22) Gap Kids is having another of its blowout flash sales. Take 40 percent off all regular-priced items for boys and girls and an additional 25 percent off all clearance. Check here for store locations.

At the Gap outlet stores in Albertville, Medford and North Branch, all of the kids stuff will be marked down an additional 30, 40 or 50 percent. Adult clearance is already getting an additional 30 percent markdown at the outlet. Check here for outlet locations.

Don't expect another 30 percent off the entire store at Old Navy, which is part of the Gap family along with Banana Republic. Performance at those stores is much improved and storewide discounting probably isn't in the cards.

This is a great back to school shopping opp.

As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
