Although frost and freeze will occur widely across central Florida tonight,Sunday night will be the coldest night of the latest arctic blast in theFlorida citrus region.In the colder locations, temperatures on Sunday night to early Monday will dipbelow 28 degrees (the threshold at which fruit starts to freeze) for four toseven hours. In general, lows will be between 24 and 29, which means this isnot an extreme event. In general, this freeze can be classified as one thatproduces light to, in some instances, moderate damage to a small percentage ofthe crop.

Other more sensitive Florida winter crops, both fruits and vegetables, couldfare much worse.
