Big cross-country meet on tap

The Jim Rovn/Ed Bauman Invitational, named for two longtime coaches at Hopkin, will feature some of the state's top teams.

The girls' races will be held Friday (varsity race at 5:30), and the boys will run Saturday morning (varsity at 10:30). The site is Gale Woods in Minnetrista.

The girls' field includes top-ranked Eden Prairie, No. 2 Elk River, No. 4 Roseville and No. 7Hopkins. Boys' teams include No. 1 Wayzata, No. 2 Eden Prairie and No. 7 Coon Rapids (No. 3 Edina will run its JV team because the varsity will be competing in Sioux Falls).
