Some of the best runners, jumpers and throwers in Minnesota will compete Friday at the Hamline Elite Meet, an invite-only track and field competition that brings together those posting the best marks in the state this season.
They include Blake long jumper Robbie Grace, who this season became just the second girl in the state to jump over 20 feet when she went 20-1; Hopkins sprinter Joe Fahnbulleh, state record holder at 200 meters who posted the fastest qualifying time in the 100-meter dash of 10.76 seconds; Rosemount’s Max Otterdahl, who has the state’s best shot put throw this season of 59-½, and eighth-grader Lauren Ping of Winona Cotter, who has the fastest girls’ 3,200-meter time of 10:36:41. The Elite Meet will start at 5:30 p.m. at Klas Field.
