A painting by Italian artist Raphael, (1483-1520) was unveiled at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts Friday morning. The painting, lent to MIA by the National Gallery, London, is The Madonna of the Pinks, c. 1506-7, oil on panel (yew tree). Its astounding, said Thomas Rassieur, MIAs curator of prints and drawings, explaining that was impressed with among other things, the works emotional tenderness. ] JIM GEHRZ james.gehrz@startribune.com / Minneapolis, MN / May 15, 2015 / 10:00 AM BACKG
