Ben Revere not in tonight's lineup

Nick Blackburn will be on the mound for the Twins against the Rangers' Derek Holland.

Ben Revere is not in the starting lineup for the first time since he returned to the club on June 2 from Class AAA Rochester. Jason Repko is in center and batting leadoff.

``He"s been playing very good out there," Gardy said, ``but he's also played every game since he's been here, since he took over that role. He started to get beat up, a little worn out."

In the wake of the death of a fan trying to catch a ball thrown to him by Josh Hamilton, railings all over the stadium here have had warning labels attached to them.

  • The Twins' game on Monday, Aug.8 against Boston has been moved to 6:10 p.m. by ESPN. The game will be shown locally on both ESPN and FSNorth.
    • The temperature as of this writing is 106. If it holds,it will be the hottest game time temp in Rangers Ballpark in Arlington history.
      • Kevin Slowey is set to start tonight for Class AAA Rochester, and several scouts are expected to be in attendance.
        • Rangers Ballpark in Arlington leads the majors with 146 home runs hit so far.
          • There's a chance Joe Mauer, who's 1-for-19 in his career against C.J. Wilson, will not start tomorrow.
            • Watch out for minor league notes sometime tomorrow. Alex Wimmers, Matt Bashore and David Bromberg are all back pitching
              • It's so hot here....that the low of 85 last night was a record high for a low.
