Ben Blankenship, a Minnesota native and 2016 Olympian, repeated as the men's pro winner of the TC 1 Mile on Thursday evening near the Minneapolis riverfront.
Blankenship's time of 4 minutes, 1 second fell short his record 3:55.8 set in 2016, but it was five seconds faster than the second-place time.
Emily Lipari of Boston, making her TC 1 Mile debut, won the women's race in 4:34.8 — just a tenth of a second ahead of Sara Vaughn of Boulder, Colo. Lipari won the Grandma's Minnesota Mile last September. Gabriele Grunewald of Minneapolis came in sixth.
