Belmont Stakes Weather

The final race in the Triple Crown, the Belmont Stakes, will take place onSaturday in Elmont, N.Y.Although there will be no Triple Crown winner this year, some exciting horseracing is still expected with the winners of the Kentucky Derby and PreaknessStakes both competing in the event for only the 22nd time.

Weather could play an important factor in the event as a storm systemapproaches the Northeast. The most noticeable change in the weather will be adramatic drop in the heat with high temperatures only expected in the middle70s. Another factor will be the chance of thunderstorms, which will be mostlikely near race time.
