Greetings.
Well, it's official. Michael Beasley will sit out tonight's game, letting that sore left ankle rest.
Coach Kurt Rambis said Beasley wanted to play, and said he appreciated that. But, given how easily that ankle has been re-injured in recent games, the decision is to rest him. Rambis said he doesn't think it's anything more than a sprained ankle but wouldn't say if he thought Beasley could miss more than one game. Call him day-to-day.
"You guys can see it doesn't take much (to re-injure the ankle)," Rambis said. "One time (against San Antonio) he tripped over someone's foot and rolled his ankle. ... And he stepped on Tim Duncan's foot and rolled it over again. Since it's recurring at such a rapid rate, it's just time to get him healthier. I don't know if he's ever going to be completely healthy. But we'll get him a lot healthier so he can go out there and play and not be thinking about it."
Wes Johnson moves into the starting lineup. Rambis said he's seen more assertiveness out of Johnson in recent games. We'll see if that continues tonight.
That's about it. Enjoy the game
