Baseball Opening Day Weather

April 3, 2009 at 12:30PM

Baseball is back, but will Mother Nature cooperate for your favorite team? The first game of the new season will feature the defending championPhiladelphia Phillies against their division rival the Atlantic Braves Sundaynight in Philadelphia. The rain will not arrive in Philadelphia until Monday,so we will see partly cloudy skies and a stiff westerly breeze for the game. Afull slate of games are on tap for Monday; however, the bad news is it lookslike a chilly, wet day from the Great Lakes to the Northeast, which will impactseveral games including the key American League matchup between the Tampa BayRays and the Boston Red Sox. The good news is mainly dry weather is expectedfrom the Pacific Northwest to the Deep South so, outside of the Great Lakes andNortheast, I say "Lets Play Ball."Story by AccuWeather.com Meteorologist Eric Leister
