Radiohead, Bruce Springsteen and the Red Hot Chili Peppers have opted to skip the Twin Cities until at least later in the year, but lo and behold the tour that rock fans have really been pining for has set a local date in the spring: Barry Manilow will return to St. Paul's Xcel Energy Center on April 13. Tickets go on sale next Friday (Feb. 3) at 10 a.m., and Fanilows can choose from a price range as broad as Barry's smile, with $129.99, $99.99, $79.99 and $59.99 seats on down to $19.99 and even $9.99.

The bright-eyed -- or, nowadays, maybe we should say say tight-eyed -- singer who gave us such immortal, life-affirming classics as "Copacabana," "Mandy" and "Can't Smile Without You" last performed in town at the X in 2008. Since then, the 68-year-old entertainer has taken up residency at the Paris hotel and casino in Las Vegas. He also endured hip surgery last month, but he's already expected to return to the stage next week in Chicago. He's touring with his first album of original songs in 10 years, "15 Minutes," thematically based on the ups and downs of fame.
