Barr, Smith progress still uncertain

December 18, 2015 at 5:38PM

Two of the Vikings' top three defensive players, linebacker Anthony Barr and safety Harrison Smith, stood on the sideline without helmets during the open portion of practice on Friday morning at Winter Park.

Barr (groin/hand) has yet to practice this week, while Smith (hamstring/knee) has been limited each of the past two days. Both missed last Thursday's game at Arizona.

Standout nose tackle Linval Joseph (foot) was back on the field for the second straight day after missing the past two games. Defensive end Everson Griffen (shoulder), who had yet to practice this week, returned on Friday.

Defensive end Scott Crichton (concussion/neck) sat out again.

The Vikings will release the final injury report for the week later this afternoon.
