Joao Barbosa, Christian Fittipaldi win Grand-Am race at Mid-Ohio

LEXINGTON, Ohio — Joao Barbosa and Christian Fittipaldi raced to their first Rolex Sports Car Series victory of the year Saturday, teaming in the No. 5 Action Express Racing Corvette DP at Mid-Ohio.

Barbosa passed Richard Westbrook for the lead with less than 30 minutes left in the 2-hour, 45-minute event on the 2.258-mile, 13-turn road course.

Michael Valiante and Enzo Potolicchio were 1.427 seconds back in second in the No. 3 8Star Motorsports Corvette DP. Max Angelelli and Jordan Taylor finished sixth in the No. 10 Velocity Worldwide Corvette DP to retain a one-point lead over Alex Gurney and Jon Fogarty in the season standings.

Bill Auberlen and Paul Dalla Lana raced to their second GT victory of the season in the No. 94 Turner Motorsport BMW M3. Sylvain Tremblay and Tom Long topped the GX class in the No. 70 SpeedSource Mazda 6.
