Bar & restaruant deals 5/10: Kingfield for a dime

Whether you live in the area or are simply looking for a quieter alternative to Uptown's hustle and bustle, the Kingfield neighborhood has you covered. Thanks to a recent influx of restaurants, the southwest Minneapolis pocket has its share of regal dining and drinking deals.

Sun Street Breads

Since opening last March, the neighborhood bakery has become more than just a spot to pick up a loaf of figgy rye or a raspberry cream scone. Sun Street offers full breakfast, lunch and dinner menus, and a short-but-quality tap list. Now the pastry peddler is rolling out a 5-6:30 p.m. happy hour, during which beer and wine are half price. Sun Street just got a little brighter.

Kings Wine Bar

For a bargain date night, look no further than the charming corner of 46th and Grand. Every Tuesday the romantically lit wine bar offers a tasting menu for two for just $45. Over three courses (plus a shared desert), lovebirds can sip wine pairings, whisper sweet nothings and still save a little cash for the weekend.

Blackbird Cafe

Kingfield isn't known for its late-night activity, but the cozy Blackbird has some savory post-dinner deals. Tap beers and glasses of wine are $3 cheaper, bottles of wine are $5 off, and grass-fed burgers and assorted snacks are a mere 3 bucks from 9 p.m. to close Monday through Thursday. Not a night owl? Pop in from 2-5 p.m. for the same delectable discounts.
