Reviving dormant agencies in Minnesota's state government may take time, but bar owners unable to buy more alcohol won't have to wait.

The state government budget bill passed on Tuesday night includes a provision that allows liquor retailers to use expired liquor purchasing cards until July 31.

Hundreds of retailers are slowly going dry because their cards expired and they were unable to get them renewed. That includes bars, restaurants and liquor stores.

The extension applies to retailers whose cards expired after June 15.
