Bar and restaurant deals: Valentine's day

After emptying your wallet on flowers, chocolates, a teddy bear or any other material item you're compelled to use to express your affections, you might not have much left for an actual Valentine's Day date. But we've found a few V-Day deals even the cash-strapped can afford.

Psycho Suzi's Motor Lounge

OK, so a shamelessly tacky tiki bar might not be the most romantic destination in town, but if your date can't enjoy the cheeky atmosphere of this bizarro wonderland, consider finding someone who can. From 5 to 11 p.m. Tuesday, Suzi offers a medium pizza and a six-pack of beer or bottle of wine for just $30, while Savannah Smith provides a sweet ukulele serenade.

Kings Wine Bar

If you're looking for something a little classier, Kings is going the traditional Valentine bargain route, offering a prix-fixe, three-course meal, plus dessert and a wine flight for $35. For each course, diners choose between two different options that include chorizo goat cheese ravioli, roasted cod and seared strip loin. Though the Kingfield favorite doesn't normally take reservations, it does on the year's most popular date night.

Lyndale Tap House

If you're one of many people flying solo on Valentine's Day, you could always buy a date for later. Bid for a night out with your favorite Tap House staff in an employee date auction, with proceeds benefiting a local charity, starting right after Bargo. Take in drink specials that include a free pint of Summit or Miller Lite with a dinner purchase of at least $10 and $3 Opulent vodka drinks from 9 p.m. to midnight.
