Bad roads lead to delays for transit riders

Metro Transit and MVTA report some delays on bus routes; light rail still not running.

April 12, 2013 at 10:20AM

Minnesota Valley Transit Authority officials say some buses are running 10 to 15 minues late, mainly due to accidents blocking roads and slowing traffic.

Metro Transit says 58 percent of buses are running late, with the average delay of 11 minutes. Some routes in St. Paul are on detour due to icy conditions. Routes 94, 16 and 50 are bypassing the Cedar Avenue Hill by the State Capitol and will travel on Cedar to 12th Street, then follow John Ireland Blvd. to Martin Luther King Blvd.

Light-rail trains are still not operating. Route 55 buses are running between Mall of America Station and Target Field. Word is buses are packed.
