On the cusp of announcing her White House bid, U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann has a new addition to her national press shop: former Arkansas TV anchor/reporter and Mike Huckabee aide Alice Stewart. Little Rock news organizations are reporting today that Stewart has resigned her job as deputy secretary of state in Arkansas. The news broke Sunday on Fox News, where, coincidentally enough, Stewart is an occasional commentator. Stewart, who will serve as Bachmann's national spokeswoman, is not the first ex-Huckabee aide to go Bachmann's way. The Minnesota Republican recently signed veteran GOP operative Ed Rollins, who caused a bit of a stir last week suggesting that potential Bachmann rival Sarah Palin is not a serious candidate.
