U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann owes more than $1 million from her failed presidential bid, recently released campaign finance records indicate.
The Minnesota Republican disclosed her debt in her latest federal campaign report, which reveals her campaign finances through late January.
Bachmann left the presidential race in January after finishing last among the Republicans competing in Iowa's caucuses. She is now running for a new term in Congress and faces three DFL challengers.
More than 75 percent of Bachmann's debt is owed to a St. Paul-based fundraising firm and her national campaign manager. She is indebted $562,681.37 to Strategic Fundraising Inc. and $193, 711.62 to Keith Nahigian of Nahigian Strategies.
