Awaited day passes with no Peterson news

April 16, 2015 at 12:17PM

NFL spokesman Greg Aiello reminded the eager NFL public Tuesday that April 15 was simply the first day Adrian Peterson could be reinstated, not necessarily the day. The reminder proved to be foreshadowing, as Wednesday passed without word from Roger Goodell regarding the former NFL MVP's stay on the commissioner's exempt list.

Goodell summoned Peterson to New York last week for one of the "periodic reviews" the commissioner established after Peterson was charged with abusing his four-year-old son last summer. Unless Goodell feels Peterson has not met the terms of his seven-month suspension, it's expected Peterson will be reinstated.
