Dahlia Society sale

Shop for thousands of show-quality dahlias at this one-day-only tuber sale, sponsored by the Minnesota Dahlia Society. Choices include rare and exclusive varieties. Habitat for bees

One of the most critical subjects affecting native bee populations is the availability of habitat. Maplewood Nature Center hosts training for gardeners, landscapers and natural resource professionals who are interested in supporting pollinators. Learn practical approaches to creating and managing a variety of nesting and overwintering habitats. Led by Sarah Foltz Jordan of the Xerces Society, the course includes field and classroom components, including a search for active nests of stem-nesting bees; 1 p.m. April 21. Free. Yards upon yards of fabric, yarn, looms, notions and more are available for the plucking at what is being called the world's largest textile garage sale, hosted by the Textile Center.
