Attending the show? Try these tips

Are you still planning to attend the auto show this weekend? If you are, show planners have some suggestions for making the show a pleasant experience:

Bring the family. Everyone will enjoy the new vehicles, race cars and antiques.

Wear comfortable shoes. It takes two to three hours to truly walk through and see the nearly 1,000 glistening new cars, trucks, vans and SUVs.

Pick up a free program. The floor plan helps you easily find the various brands displaying vehicles and navigate the show overall.

Consider using nearby lots and streets for parking. This can be an especially helpful tip because lines can form to enter the Minneapolis Convention Center's underground parking.

Making the most of auto show visit

The Auto Show is a "what's-out-there type of show," says Bill Abraham, executive director of the show's sponsor, the Greater Metropolitan Automobile Dealers Association of Minnesota. "This show makes it perfect for attendees to ask questions, collect literature, figure out what you want in a new car and even set up test-drives. In addition, the show is a great time to find out what's new in technology, compare specific vehicles with each other and generally take advantage of," Abraham says, "the only time all year when all the new vehicles are under one roof."
