Authorities ID body recovered from Lake Phalen

Authorities on Sunday identified the man whose body was recovered from Lake Phalen in St. Paul.

Roger Valle, 22, of St. Paul, went underwater in the lake's swimming area Saturday night and did not resurface, according to the Ramsey County medical examiner's office.

An official cause of death has yet to be determined.

Sheriff's deputies and city police and fire personnel were called to the lake about 8 p.m., and the body was recovered about 50 minutes later.
