Authorities find dead man floating in Mississippi River in Minneapolis

Hennepin County sheriff's deputies and Minneapolis police responded to just past the St. Anthony Lock and Dam around noon.

Authorities discovered a body floating in the Mississippi River near the Interstate 35W Bridge on Tuesday afternoon.

Hennepin County sheriff's deputies and Minneapolis police responded to the scene, just past the St. Anthony Lock and Dam, around noon, where first responders located a deceased adult male.

The Sheriff's Office is investigating.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office will identify the victim and release his cause of death pending an autopsy.
