Augustus back but probably won't start

The Lynx play their final exhibition today against the Los Angeles Sparks. Both teams are 2-0 in preseason.

Guard Seimone Augustus, the Lynx's leading scorer the past two seasons, rejoined the team for practice Friday after returning from Russia. Guard Anna DeForge, a free agent who signed in February, also has reported.

"You want to play to win," Lynx coach Don Zierden said of today's game, "but, more importantly, we have a lot of young ladies right now that are really right on the bubble of making the team or not making the team." The Lynx must cut four players this week.

Probable starters today are Nicky Anosike at center, Charde Houston and Eshaya Murphy at forward and Navonda Moore and Noelle Quinn at guard.

The Sparks are led by three-time WNBA MVP Lisa Leslie and Candace Parker, this year's No. 1 draft pick.

The WNBA and its players' union weren't able to agree to a new collective bargaining agreement by the Friday night deadline, and now the league enters a ''status-quo'' period with no new extension reached.
