Q: The woman who plays Hayes Morrison on ABC's "Conviction" is the best actress on TV. I have never heard of her. Who is she?

A: That is Hayley Atwell, a stage, film and TV actress who is best known for playing Peggy Carter in sundry Marvel productions, including the now-departed "Agent Carter" TV series. Other credits for the British actress include the big-screen, live-action "Cinderella" in 2015, "Testament of Youth" and the TV miniseries "The Pillars of the Earth."

Sometimes it's just acting

Q: What happened to the actor who plays Jack Hodgins on "Bones"? On the show it was explained that he was in an explosion that put him in the wheelchair.

A: T.J. Thyne does not need a wheelchair in his off-camera life. But in Hollywood's attempts to provide more realistic portrayals on camera, there are some actors whose screen roles reflect their regular lives. Daryl (Chill) Mitchell, who plays the wheelchair-using Patton Plame on CBS' "NCIS: New Orleans," was in a 2001 motorcycle accident that left him paralyzed from the waist down. Micah Fowler, who plays JJ DiMeo on ABC's "Speechless," has cerebral palsy just as JJ does on the show. On the other hand, sometimes what you are seeing is simply artifice, with Thyne just a recent example.

More class for Miller?

Q: I heard a rumor that Dennis Miller plans to revive his old show "Head of the Class." Any truth to it?

A: In 2015, entertainment reporter Roger Friedman said on his ShowBiz411 website that Netflix was considering a reboot of the ABC comedy about gifted high school students and their teacher. But I've seen nothing about that since. On another note, Dennis Miller did not star in "Head of the Class." Howard Hesseman played the teacher for the first four seasons. When he left, Billy Connolly joined the cast for what proved to be its final season, then starred as the same character in a short-lived TV series, "Billy."

The 'Beast' is dead

Q: We watched the first season of "Feed the Beast" and enjoyed it very much. Any word on whether it will be back?

A: It will not. AMC decided not to order a second run of the David Schwimmer series.

Back to the Island

Q: Will "The Curse of Oak Island" be back?

A: Yes. The History series begins a fourth season on Nov. 15, with the season premiere preceded by a "Curse" special catching up fans and newcomers. As for what is coming, History says this: "For Rick and Marty Lagina, their lifelong dream of solving the 221-year Oak Island mystery may be on the verge of the greatest breakthrough yet. With over 450 tons of massive, state-of-the-art technology and heavy digging machinery, this season the Lagina Brothers and their partners are excavating the renowned Money Pit."
