An all-terrain vehicle crashed in northwestern Minnesota, killing both people on the machine, authorities said Sunday.
The wreck occurred Saturday night south of Mentor in Polk County, according to the Sheriff's Office.
Killed were Noel W. Schmieg, of Mentor, and Crystal R. Scott, of Crookston, both 34 years old, the Sheriff's Office said.
The ATV was riding along County Road 12, hit a field approach and crashed roughly 25 miles east of Crookston. Emergency responders found the two riders unconscious about 9:50 p.m., and the two were pronounced dead at the scene.
