A Clinton, Minn., man was charged Monday with multiple counts of attempted murder, accused of stabbing a woman and a 6-year-old girl in the neck Friday, according to the Big Stone County Sheriff's Office.

Christopher Hyden, 28, was charged with seven counts of attempted murder, criminal sexual conduct and assault. He is being held in the Kandiyohi County jail in lieu of $600,000 bail.

According to the Sheriff's Office, around 6:30 p.m. Friday authorities received a 911 call about a stabbing. When officers arrived, they found a 28-year-old Clinton woman and a 6-year-old girl with knife wounds to their necks. Their conditions are not known.

The suspect fled on a red four-wheeler. Several law enforcement agencies and a SWAT team began searching for him. After about an hour, he walked out of a cornfield and surrendered.
