The British Open is one of the most prestigious golf tournaments of theyear. It is the oldest of the four major championships and is the only majorgolf tournament held outside of the United States. The others are the U.S.Open, the PGA and the Masters. This year the British Open is being held inTurnberry. The course is right on the coast and definitely exposed to badweather elements should they develop.
Today's weather at The Open doesn't look good. A slow-moving storm willplague the area with thick cloud cover and periods of rain and drizzle. Becauseof the cloudy, damp conditions, the temperature will fail to climb any higherthan the lower 60s. Unless there are heavy downpours, which is unlikely, playwill go on as scheduled.
