"Bring out your bikes!"

That's the clarion call from the Cycling Museum of Minnesota (based in Minneapolis) for its upcoming ride and rally. It also speaks loudly, too, for the Minnesota bike event calendar.

Bike tours, Open Streets events, cyclocross championships, mountain bike racing. Heck, preparation for the winter fat tire schedule. The cycling options for all, beginners and experts, fill the fall calendar. Below are a few notable events. For an immediate fix, consider this weekend's Minneapolis Bike Tour. The ride has the option of two distances (32 and 16 miles), and starts and ends at Boom Island. Details on day-off registration at minneapolisparks.org.

Bring Your Old Bike Rally & Ride: Cycling Museum of Minnesota wants people to show up with their wheels, from "shiny to shabby." The event includes a 6-mile ride. (1 p.m. Sept. 23, 519 Oak Grove St., Minneapolis, cmm.bike/events)

Wild Ride Mountain Bike Fest: Hosted by Dakota County Parks, the festival is at Lebanon Hills Regional Park in Eagan, a mecca for the mountain biking crowd in the metro area. (10 a.m. Oct. 7, co.dakota.mn.us/parks.)

Teravail Oremageddon: The Cuyuna Lakes Mountain Bike Crew is back with its fall races on single-track trails in Cuyuna Country State Recreation Area in Ironton, Minn. (Races Oct. 7, cuyunalakesmtb.com.)
