The Woodbury Rotary will hold its second Miracle Gala to raise money to put the finishing touches on a baseball field that will allow children and adults with disabilities to join in America's pastime.
The Rotary has set a goal to raise $130,000 to build the Jeff Hanson Miracle League Field at the Bielenberg Sports Complex in Woodbury. It has raised $100,000 to date.
The event is set for 6 p.m. Friday at Axel's at Prestwick Golf Club in Woodbury. It also is a fundraiser for the Greg Orth Public Safety Scholarship for local students.
Woodbury artist Phil Thompson and friends will provide the entertainment during the Miracle Gala, which also will feature food and wine, live and silent auctions and a raffle. Tickets are $55 and available by calling 651-714-4656.

Seven galleries and studios part of art tourThe welcome mat will be out at seven studios and galleries next weekend as more than 20 artists along both sides of the St. Croix River show jewelry, glass, paintings, pottery and sculpture.
Participants in the 2011 ArtOpener studio tour include: The Pottery@Raccoon Highway, Elaine Studio and Spiritworks Pottery, all in Stillwater; Studio d'Art and Seasons on St. Croix Gallery, both in Hudson, Wis.; and Sigwarth Glass and the Richard Reynolds Ward Studio, both in River Falls, Wis.
