The Church of St. Patrick in Inver Grove Heights will host a "Taste Extravaganza" from 6:30-10 p.m. April 27 in the church's Shamrock Hall.
The event will feature samplings of cuisine from area restaurants as well as wine and beer tasting. There will also be a cash bar. Restaurants participating include Angelo's, Axel's Bonfire, Bierstube, Cahill Diner, Caribou, Eddy's Bar and Grill, Emma Krumbees, Gina's Homestyle Catering, Jersey's Bar and Grill, Mendoberri Café Wine and Bar, Outback Steakhouse, the Pool & Yacht Club and The Coop. Wine and beer is courtesy of Cameron's Liquor.
Tickets are $25 and are available at the church after weekend masses or at the church office at 3535 72nd St. in Inver Grove Heights. The public is welcome.
Proceeds from the fundraiser will be used to pay down archdiocesan debt and cover other routine expenses and maintenance.

Tea tutorial at LeDuc Estate The LeDuc Historic Estate is offering "Tasting Tea Throughout History," a look at the history of tea consumption combined with a tea-tasting experience, from 6:30-9:15 p.m. April 26.
Why is tea called white, green, brown or black? What are its health benefits? How do teas described as "fruity, weedy, delicate and spicy" taste? All these questions and more will be covered. Edibles considered to be "appropriate accompaniments specific to a variety of teas" also will be available.
"Guests are encouraged to bring their favorite tea cup, since tea really does taste better in a beautiful cup," the estate said in a news release.
