Folk singer/songwriter Peter Yarrow will perform at 7:30 p.m. May 21 at the Ames Center, 12600 Nicollet Av. S.

"His music and songs with Peter, Paul and Mary resonate with a history that has changed and inspired generations to continue to keep on keepin' on, hold firm to principle and not be deterred in the face of adversity," the organizers said. "It will be a memorable evening of music, camaraderie and 'Puff's special magic,' for everyone."

Show celebrates Fleetwood Mac

"Rumours and Dreams: The Music of Fleetwood Mac," performed by "a host of A-list musicians," will begin at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Lakeville Area Arts Center, 20965 Holyoke Av.

Minneapolis Guitar Quartet to perform

The Minneapolis Guitar Quartet will perform at 2 p.m. May 17 at the Lakeville Area Arts Center, 20965 Holyoke Av.

The concert is the last of this year's Coffee Concerts series. Founding guitarist Joseph Hagedorn described the "Looking Back, Looking Ahead" program as "a balance of Latin American, Spanish and classical music, with some folk-based contemporary music featuring a great new setting of Scarborough Fair by Minnesota composer David Crittenden."

All the pieces the quartet performs are either composed or arranged by the group's members.

The musicians are Hagedorn, Benjamin Kunkel, Wade Oden and Maja Radovanlija.

Silver Tea music series at libraries

The Dakota County Library's Silver Tea series will continue Monday with musician Zachary Scot Johnson performing original songs and covers from the 1950s, 60s and 70s on keyboard, guitar, banjo, mandolin, violin and dobro.

Johnson's shows will be at 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Burnhaven Library, 1101 W. County Road 42, Burnsville.

On Tuesday, Minnesota jazz musicians Joan Griffith and Ruth MacKenzie will perform field songs, spirituals, call-and-response, scat, rap and jam. Their shows will be at 10:15 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. at the Heritage Library, 20085 Heritage Dr. in Lakeville.

Pop Wagner, who often appears on "A Prairie Home Companion," and John Hurt, "a style guitarist, cowboy singer and lasso twirler," will perform in Hastings on Wednesday. That show is at 1 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Library, 1490 S. Frontage Road, Hastings.

Leroy Larson and the Minnesota Scandinavian Ensemble will perform music and entertain with humor and a bit of Scandinavian history on Thursday in Eagan. The show begins at 2 p.m.at the Wescott Library, 1340 Wescott Road, Eagan.

All shows are free and geared toward audiences age 55 and older.
