Arts briefs: Mystery encourages audience involvement

"Eat, Drink and Be Murdered" will be presented by the Eagan Theater Company at 6 p.m. March 14 and 15 at the Eagan Community Center.

A family member dies during Grandma's 80th birthday party, an event which the feuding O'Riley and McFadden clans have gathered to celebrate at a pub in Eagan. The audience will try to guess the murderer and motive and "laughs will ensue," the theater says.

The show is intended for adult audiences. Proceeds will benefit the Eagan 55+/Seniors and the Eagan Theater Company. Tickets are limited and are now on sale at www.etc-mn.org or at the Eagan Community Center. They are $40 per person and include dinner and the performance. A cash bar will be available.

'Bite' tickets on sale GB Leighton is returning as the headlining act for this year's Bite of Burnsville on March 14, in which more than 20 of the city's dining establishments and caterers will serve up appetizers, entrees and desserts.

The event, in its 22nd year, is scheduled for 5:30-10 p.m. at the Burnsville Performing Arts Center. It also will include a silent auction with more than 200 items, big and small, as well as a live auction with items valued at $500 and up -- including the chance to throw out a first pitch at a Minnesota Twins game.

The three-hour fest costs $10 per carload. It starts at noon at 19300 Ritter Trail, west of Interstate 35.

Art meets dance This year's "Evening of Art and Dance," which matches up visual artists with choreographers who will share interpretations of their work, is at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Lakeville Area Arts Center.

The visual artists and choreographers with Ballet Royale Minnesota will present and discuss the meaning behind the pieces, followed by dances inspired by them. The audience is invited to a complimentary coffee hour afterward to meet the artists and dancers.
