For the past several weeks, more than 45 students from communities in northern Washington and Ramsey counties have been learning their lines, developing their characters and building sets and costumes. Next weekend, it's show time.

This is the 20th year for the Lakeshore Players' Summer Youth Project play, and the cast will present "Under a Midsummer Moon" in shows at 7:30 p.m. Friday, 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, and 2 p.m. next Sunday.

Written by White Bear Lake playwright Claudia Haas, the play is set in a decaying urban park in 1969 and features characters who are out of sorts with the world, but help each other in unexpected ways. When Apollo 11 lands on the moon, suddenly all things become possible.

The theater is at 4820 Stewart Av. in White Bear Lake. Tickets are $10 to $12. For more information, call 651-429-5674.
