Arts briefs: Forest Lake sets Arts in Park finale

The 11th year of summer concerts in Lakeside Park will wrap up with a performance by Fresh Squeezed Country at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Festivities kick off an hour earlier with a free community corn feed. Vendors will sell pizza, hot dogs, ice cream, cotton candy and popcorn in the park at Hwy. 61 and Broadway. For more, go to www.ci.forest-lake.mn.us.

WOODBURY

Quilts are on display at library More than 30 quilts handmade by members of the River Valley Quilters Guild are on display at the R.H. Stafford Library, 8595 Central Park Place.

The library is open from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Wednesdays and 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays, through Sept. 7. It will be closed on Labor Day. For more, call 651-731-1320.

HASTINGS

Cool cars to roll downtown Owners of classic vehicles from 1976 and older have polished the chrome and shined the bumpers for upcoming Downtown Saturday Night Cruise-In events.

They'll show off their prized vehicles from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sept. 18. The event is held twice monthly from May through Oct. 2.

OAKDALE

Guitar is a keeper at this camp The Inspirational Dance Company will offer a Fast Start Guitar Camp this week for ages 8 to 13.

Campers will learn how to read music, play basic guitar chords and perform a small repertoire of songs. They also will learn how to tune their instruments and care for their starter guitars, which they get to keep.

Students will have lessons from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Wednesday and finish with an in-studio performance Thursday at the school, at 5701 Hadley Av. N. The cost is $250. For more, call 651-214-8713.
