Arts briefs: Classic rock tribute bands play Ames Center

A Led Zeppelin and Bad Company tribute show will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday at the Ames Center, 12600 Nicollet Av. S.

Madd Company will perform first, followed by the headline act, Whole Lotta Zep, recreating an actual Led Zeppelin concert. Tickets are $62, $52 and $42.

Tickets are available at the box office or Ticketmaster.

Theater presents 'Fox on the Fairway'

Expressions Community Theater will present "The Fox on the Fairway," an English-style farce of the 1930s and 1940s, with showings at 2 p.m. this Sunday and next and at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

The play is set at the Quail Valley Country Club. Members of the club are preparing for the annual golfing match against rival Crouching Squirrel. It's billed as a "madcap adventure about love, life, and man's eternal love affair with golf."

The performances will be at the Lakeville Area Arts Center, 20965 Holyoke Av. Tickets are $13, available by calling 952-985-4640.

Bread basket weaving at arts center

Adults and teens 15 and older can learn how to weave bread baskets at an event from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Lakeville Area Arts Center, 20965 Holyoke Av.

The class costs $35 per person. Registration is required. Call 952-985-4640 to sign up.

Wine and Designs painting workshop

A one-night workshop at the Lakeville Area Arts Center will combine wine tasting and painting.

The event, for people 21 and over, will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at 20965 Holyoke Av. There will be wine tasting while participants paint a featured picture.

The cost is $35 per person, which includes supplies and two glasses of wine. Registration is required. To sign up, call 952-985-4640.

ROSEMOUNT

Bogart and Bacall film series

"Dark Passage," the latest in the Rosemount Area Arts Center's series featuring the best of Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall films, will be shown at 7 p.m. Friday at the Rosemount Community Center, 13885 S. Robert Trail.

Tickets cost $7 and will be available at the door.
