Members of the audience will get a chance to participate each night in the Chameleon Theatre Circle's production of the "25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" Friday through Dec. 18 at the Burnsville Performing Arts Center.

Each performance of the hit musical will include four audience members as spelling bee participants. Those who are interested can reserve a spot; e-mail volunteer@ chameleontheatre.org for more information.

Performances are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and Dec. 8, 9, 10, 15, 16 and 17 and for 2 p.m. next Sunday and Dec. 11 and 18.

Tickets are $20 for adults and $17 for seniors and students. They may be bought at the Arts Center box office at 12600 Nicollet Av. in Burnsville.

'Amahl,' Christmas music next SundayThe Dakota Valley Symphony will present "Amahl and the Night Visitors" and other Christmas music at a concert at 2 p.m. next Sunday at the Burnsville Performing Arts Center.

ROSEMOUNT

Christmas variety shows are SaturdayThe Rosemount Area Arts Council will present "Christmas at the Steeple Center" at 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday in a Christmas variety show format patterned after the Perry Como and Andy Williams Christmas specials the singers used to produce for television each holiday season.

Tickets are $12 for the matinee and $15 for the evening performance. A city tree-lighting ceremony will be held at 6:30 p.m. in front of the Steeple Center just before the evening performance.
