Author Jim Trevis will talk about his book, "A Mile of Dreams," at a meet-the-author event hosted by the Rosemount Area Arts Council at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Robert Trail Library, 14395 S. Robert Trail, Rosemount.
The book "springs from the author's experiences of growing up on a small dairy farm near Rosemount," according to the RAAC. "The novel attempts to honor the family farm, yet to be honest about what is required to preserve it."

Photography class offered
A free beginner's photography class will be offered from 7 to 9 p.m. April 23 at the Steeple Center, 14375 S. Robert Trail. The event kicks off the Rosemount Area Arts Council's 4th-annual amateur photo contest.
Photographer Kyle Krohn of West Photo will teach the class.
