This is not uncommon. Teen idols often pen their life stories to slake the bottomless thirst of their fans. David Cassidy's landmark work "My Life" included a chapter on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict which is still cited in scholarly works today, and Frank Sinatra's "My Story" was noted at the time for positing a cosmological model that anticipated later theories on dark matter and particle physics.
