Oakdale bar taken off probation

July 16, 2010 at 1:18AM

The Oakdale City Council voted this week to approve a transfer of a liquor license for Beer Belly's Bar & Grill on Geneva Avenue.

The council had previously placed the liquor license on probation after a slew of incidents and frequent 911 calls at the bar.

City administrator Craig Waldron said the bar changed hands late in the spring and the new owner's philosophy on managing is in line with the council's.

According to city documents, police calls between January and June this year are down 41 percent from the same period in 2009.
