3 hurt when deck collapses in Coon Rapids

Three people were taken to a hospital after the deck on a house in Coon Rapids collapsed Friday night, police said.

The accident happened about 9:15 p.m. on the 1800 block of 113th Lane, said Coon Rapids police Sgt. Rick Boone. Six to 10 people were on the deck when it broke away from the second story and fell about 8 feet, he said.

One person suffered back injuries in the accident, while two others had leg injuries. None of the injuries was life-threatening, he said. SARAH LEMAGIE
