Eagles quarterback Michael Vick was involved in a confrontation before a shooting following his birthday bash, the lead prosecutor of Virginia Beach, Va., said Wednesday.
Commonwealth's Attorney Harvey L. Bryant told the Associated Press that Vick was not involved in the shooting and that he left the nightclub "in the 3- to 5-minute range" before it occurred.
"He's an athlete and an entertainer, but he's also a human being, and things that would tick you and I off would tick him off," Bryant said. "But he extricated himself from those things and left."

Pitino accuser has history of claims Federal prosecutors said that a woman charged with trying to extort money from Louisville men's basketball coach Rick Pitino had made earlier, false claims of sexual harassment against a businessman.
Prosecutors said in a court document that Karen Cunagin Sypher filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against an auto glass business owner in 2001, a case prosecutors say had similarities to the Pitino case. In the earlier case, prosecutors say, Sypher had consensual sex with the man, then was hired by him. She claimed to be pregnant when he ended the relationship and sued the man.
Assistant U.S. Attorney John E. Kuhn Jr. said the earlier alleged extortion attempt will be introduced at Sypher's trial, which starts July 26.
