Letter of the day: The health care summit: A lot of talk and no compromise

February 27, 2010 at 6:50PM

The health care summit proved that neither the president, the Democrats or the Republicans are interested at all in listening to the other side. This whole day was a waste for all sides, and a tragedy for the American people. Both sides just repeated what was said thousands of times in the past year. President Obama's closing statements said it all. He basically told the Republicans that they needed to agree on the Democratic bill, or it would be passed without them. And I did not hear that either side was willing to give up something if the other side agreed to do the same. JOE KUCALA, MEDINA
