David McKeen of St. louis Park spent the afternoon flying his three kites on Lake Calhoun. David McKeen said, "With the wind and the temperature at 30 degress, it is a perfect day to fly my kites. There just haven't been many days like this.". David is a gardener at the Minneapolis Golf Club and was attending a convention in the morning and late afternoon. Kites & Bites Festival

Kids are invited to run like the wind to get enough lift for kite flying. While supplies last, youths will get free kites to fly. After burning energy, families can eat from a variety of food trucks including Tot Boss, Potter's Pasties and others. (11 a.m.-2 p.m. Sat. Valley View Playfields, 90th St. and Portland Av.
