As you know, western Texas has been suffering through a terrible droughtwith very little rain all winter. Plus, every time a storm passes by to thenorth, dry winds from the desert Southwest increase the chances for quicklyspreading wildfires. The storm coming Thursday will again bypass the area withno appreciable rain expected through Friday.A more pronounced flow from the east could result in a change this weekend.
The easterly flow will bring air with a higher moisture content into thewestern part of the state, while at the same time, a storm will move in fromthe west. This could trigger substantial shower and thunderstorm activity fromAmarillo to Midland later Saturday into Sunday.
