Life is a carnival

Rock fans with the ability to read have scored recently with well-received autobiographies by Brian Wilson, Bruce Springsteen and Elvis Costello. Robbie Robertson's new contribution, "Testimony," is getting similar raves, and has me pumped to re-watch 1978's "The Last Waltz," the greatest rock concert ever documented on film. The show, which ended up being the last stand for the Band with Robertson, is spectacular, thanks in no small part to guest appearances by Neil Diamond, Bob Dylan and Neil Young.

Leaving the flock

Leah Remini was such a howl on "The King of Queens" that I keep wishing she'd commit to full-time acting again. Still, you can't blame the former panelist for "The Talk" for investing in "Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath," a series in which she talks to former Scientologists who, like herself, were harassed after they criticized the organization.

Stiff upper lips

English manners go out the window for the Season 3 premiere of "Ladies of London," a series that has all the backbiting and snootiness of the stateside "Real Housewives" series. Don't expect tea to calm anyone's nerves, especially with a pregnancy, family illness and divorce on the horizon.
