Wadena police are investigating a possible homicide after they received a 911 call of a man inside a home with a gun, then later found a deceased woman at the house.

At 2:30 p.m., Wadena County Sheriff's Office dispatch center received a 911 call that a male was inside a home in the 300 block of Bryant Avenue SW, according to a news release.

When an officer responded to the location, a man fled the residence and sought to get away in a vehicle. Police chased the suspect who was headed west on Hwy. 29. The suspect was pursued until he crashed into another vehicle near the intersection of Hwy. 29 and Otter Tail County Road 75.

The adult male was arrested and remains in jail.

Officers found an adult female inside the home, dead of apparent gunshot wounds. She was later identified as Margaret St. Marie, age 29, of Wadena.

The Wadena Police Department is being assisted with the investigation by Wadena County Sheriff's Office, Minnesota BCA, and Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
